Mililani Kajukenbo Club
Kajukenbo is a hybrid martial art that combines western boxing, Judo, Ju-Jitsu, Kenpo Karate, Tang Soo Do and Kung Fu. It was founded in 1947 here in Hawaii, at the Palama Settlement. The founders were Sijo Adriano Emperado, Peter Choo, Joe Holck, Frank Ordonez, and George Chang. They called themselves the Black Belt Society.
Kajukenbo is an eclectic blend of techniques from five Asian martial arts, along with techniques and principles from western boxing and Filipino escrima; kajukenbo’s non-traditional, no-nonsense approach to self defense has contributed to its rapid growth, and strong reputation as an effective self defense system.
